SHARROW PROPELLERS OUTPERFORM TWO MERCURY PROP OPTIONS ON NOR-TECH 392 WITH QUAD MERCURY 350 HP OUTBOARDS
On the Nor-Tech 392 powered by quad Mercury 350 HP outboards, the same Sharrow 15.5" × 22" w/ True Advance™ propeller was tested against both Mercury Rev 4 and Enertia Eco propellers. The results showed substantial advantages across the boat's operating range.
Against the Rev 4, Sharrow delivered up to 12.4 MPH more speed at the same RPM, while propeller efficiency reached 90% versus 53% at 3,000 RPM and slip dropped to 10% versus 47%.
Against the Enertia Eco, Sharrow delivered up to 7.2 MPH more speed, with efficiency reaching 90% versus 67% and slip measuring 10% versus 33% at 3,000 RPM. The MPG data also showed consistent efficiency gains across the cruising range.
Together, the results demonstrate something more meaningful than a comparison against a single stock propeller: the same Sharrow propeller was able to outperform multiple conventional Mercury propeller designs on the same boat and engines. The data points to the underlying advantage of the Sharrow design—more advance, less slip, greater propeller efficiency, and more usable performance from the power the boat already has.
MORE SPEED AT THE SAME RPM, LOWER SLIP, AND GREATER RANGE ON EVERGLADES 435 WITH QUAD YAMAHA 425 XTO OUTBOARDS
On the Everglades 435 powered by quad Yamaha 425 XTOs, Sharrow Propellers delivered up to 3.1 MPH more speed at the same RPM, 18% better MPG, and up to 66 additional miles of range. Higher propeller efficiency and significantly lower slip demonstrate why the Sharrow-equipped boat is able to turn the same engine power into more speed and greater efficiency.
FASTER MID-RANGE SPEEDS, GREATER EFFICIENCY, AND ADDED RANGE ON SCOUT 530 LXF WITH QUINT MERCURY 450R OUTBOARDS
On the Scout 530 LXF powered by quint Mercury 450R outboards, Sharrow Propellers delivered substantially more performance throughout the boat's cruising range. At 3,500 RPM, the Sharrow-equipped boat ran 32.8 MPH versus 25.3 MPH with the stock Rev 4s—a 7.5 MPH or 30% improvement. Sharrow also delivered up to 40% greater propeller efficiency, dramatically lower slip, and approximately 10–21% better MPG across the primary cruising range, resulting in up to roughly 50+ additional miles of range. While the Sharrow setup's top speed was approximately 1 MPH lower, the propellers remained within the recommended WOT RPM range, and because this customer does not operate at WOT, the small difference in peak speed has no practical impact on their typical use. For this application, the data clearly shows that Sharrow's advantage is not simply top-end speed—it is how efficiently the propeller converts engine power into usable speed, range, and performance where the boat is actually operated.
